Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
What an amazing year 2021 has been. We laughed at the Laugh for Life, broke records at our annual Walk and Run for Life, and introduced our new name, Wellspring Life Ministry.
This year has also brought some changes and challenges to our pro-life work. The recent decision by the FDA to allow the abortion pills, mifepristone and misoprostol, to be distributed by mail will undoubtedly have a devastating impact on women. We are closely watching the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Supreme Court case, which has the potential to reverse Roe v Wade and restore legal protection for preborn babies.
In the midst of all this, as we enter our 40th year of ministry, our work for life continues. We know that in 2022 women will need us more than ever, and we are here to help them meet their challenges with life-affirming care, and the hope of the Gospel.
I want to share with you a conversation I overheard recently in our Annapolis office.
Rusty, one of the ministry’s volunteers, was on the phone with a distressed young woman. Rusty was so kind and compassionate as she answered each question. As we always do, Rusty told the caller that there was no charge for any of our services. The caller asked how this was possible, and Rusty explained, “There are people in our community who care about you and the situation you’re going through, and they have covered the cost of your visit.”
Because of you, women considering abortion receive compassionate, professional medical care at no cost. They see the proof of life on an ultrasound, find healing from past abortion decisions, and hear of God’s perfect plan for their lives.
When you partner with Wellspring Life Ministry, you show your love for these women, and that you care for them and their preborn babies.
Together, we are fighting the darkness of abortion with the light and love of Jesus.
And together, we are winning this battle for Life.
So far this year, by God’s grace and with your support, this ministry has cared for over 700 women, offering free medical services and counseling, and sharing the powerful message of the Gospel. We hope you will consider joining the work that God is doing through Wellspring Life Ministry.
