During this season of hope, we are reminded that God always has a plan. In this story, a young married woman thought she had her whole life mapped out, until nothing turned out as she expected.
“Natalie” had a faith in God, a good job and was married. However her marriage had not turned out exactly as she had thought and they had recently separated. Otherwise, her life was completely on course.
Until the positive pregnancy test.
Pregnancy was definitely not part of Natalie’s well-ordered plan. This created a situation that was out of her control, causing fear and anxiety. With her recent split from her husband, she thought that abortion was the most logical step.
Natalie found our clinic online, looking to verify her pregnancy as the first task in her “problem solving agenda.” Professional and serious, she remained stoic during her conversations with her counselor, not giving any indications of her thoughts and plans. Natalie watched the sonogram screen with little expression. She thanked us for our service and left the clinic still planning to abort.
Volunteers and staff continued to pray for Natalie and she weighed heavily on our hearts. There was little to no response to our outreach, and she gave no indication of her plans for over a month.
Six weeks after her appointment, her counselor was overjoyed to receive news that Natalie had chosen life for her child. “The baby is fine and I’m great too. A day at a time,” she texted, showing that she’s trusting God with her future.
Natalie enrolled in our LifeSense classes and was so grateful for the training and advice. She felt more confident with the skills learned. Her sweet baby boy was born in mid October.
Joyfully, she and her husband have also reconciled and are planning to baptize their little son in the coming weeks.
“It’s not been easy… but we keep making it work,” Natalie told us. “God has been great.”
God’s plan is always better. As Natalie learned, His ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). The bounty that He prepares for all of us is greater than anything we can imagine – and His table overflows with blessing.
With your continued partnership, you are joining with the King as He welcomes more children to His table. We are so grateful to serve alongside you for life.
Joyfully,
