In 2023, Wellspring Life Ministry launched Well Woman Care at our Women’s Clinics to care for women without access to annual wellness exams.
During our Well Women visits, our medical staff conducts comprehensive exams including cancer screenings, breast exams, and overall health. Each woman’s story is as unique as she is. Brittany* is just one woman whom we had the privilege to care for in recent months.
Brittany came to us for a free wellness visit because she was concerned about a lump in her breast. After examination, we referred to the local health department for a diagnostic mammogram – which thankfully showed the lump was benign.
More importantly, because Brittany felt safe and cared for, she opened up, shared her Christian faith, and expressed her ongoing struggle with sexual sin. She had not told anyone else. As she and the nurse practitioner, Lianna, continued talking, Brittany expressed her desire to walk in the light of obedience in her sexual life, and what that might look like.
Lianna prayed with her and encouraged her to get back to church and God’s Word. Brittany had tears in her eyes as she received a warm hug at the end of the visit.
Brittany’s tears were a reminder that true healthcare reaches beyond the physical. Through Well Woman Care, we have the privilege of caring for the whole woman—body, mind, and spirit—and pointing her to the lasting hope found in Jesus Christ.
