Volunteer Spotlight: Anna-Marie

blog

Anna-Marie – pictured above, with fellow counselor, Pearl – had first learned about the Pregnancy Clinic Ministry from a friend at church, Riverdale Baptist. As a newborn hearing screener, she was very familiar with babies and the priceless gift of life.

She’d always had it at the back of her mind to get involved, but it wasn’t until 2017 that she felt God’s strong tug encouraging her to sign up for the volunteer training class.

And she never looked back.

Anna-Marie went through the internship process and began counseling in April 2018. To date, she’s met with over 50 clients, offering unconditional love, strong support, and the truth of the gospel to women considering abortion.

Anna-Marie keeps busy outside the clinic with a husband of 36 years, two adult sons, and 1 precious grandchild. She is president of her quilt guild – Southern Comforters of Bowie – and very active in her congregation.

As a quilter, Anna-Marie is attentive to detail and in tune with how each separate block of a quilt is just one piece of a whole. She brings this awareness to her counseling ministry, gently helping each woman she meets with to see her pregnancy as one block of a magnificent quilt that God is constructing in their lives – piece by piece, block by block.

We are so blessed to have Anna-Marie as part of our ministry team! Thank you, Anna Marie!
